International Stampin' Up! Blog Highlights November

Hi, welcome to my blog and  Kylie's International Stampin' Up! Blog Highlights. I really excited to be apart of it again. The fun bit about this Highlight is that you can vote for your favourite five projects in the gallery. At the end of the voting, the top ten winners will get the chance to be part of an international blog hop that will take place at the end of November. I would love to take part in the hop, so I would be very grateful if you would visit the gallery and vote for my card.
I've been inspired to make a card for my friend... I've been meaning to order the new Mercury Glass Designer Acetate but totally forgot to include it in my last order. I really liked the look of the randomness of it so I thought I would have a go at creating my own but changing the colour from grey to Bermuda Bay, using stamps and ink.
While I was stamping the background with the Artisan Textures Stamp Set, I remembered I received a beautiful card from a friend of mine, Chrissy Graham. Chrissy makes gorgeous cards and especially loves to create a vintage look. Her card inspired the centre panel with the flowers on it (Fanciful Fragrance Stamp Set). I have also been making cards with the new Christmastime Is Here Suite and because I'm totally in love with the new trellis die (Roses Die Set), I had to use it. I die cut one out then cut it in half longways and backed it on to the silver foil backed Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). Who said you can't use Christmas DSP on non-Christmas cards! I coloured with a Light Coastal Cabana Stampin' Blend.

I have to say, I love how it turned out. It has a modern yet vintage flavour to it. That sentiment is just so adorable! Sometimes I buy stamp sets for a certain sentiment but with this stamp set, you get such beautiful images and sentiments! You could add some rhinestones too but I wanted this card to be all about the background. Sometimes less is more!

I hope this card inspires you to have a go at using these stamp sets and to jump out of your comfort zone to create different looks for your cards. Please let me know if you do, I would love to see your creations!
