Colour Rocks My World!!! Last day for BONUS DAYS!

Yes I love colour!

Hello and welcome to my blog.  Do you have a favourite colour? My favourite is blue... no its, purple... wait, its pink! Ok I have many favourite colours! There is a place in my heart for all colours, even brown! I say that because, when I'm teaching my class of six year olds and they are all talking at once, I say, "Oh! That sounds like brown paint!" That stops them in their tracks! Brown paint is all the colours mixed up and it usually looks gross and thats what happens with your voices, they get all mixed up!"
That phrase then becomes the phrase of the year! I do like brown but in it's place, and just a little. That goes for noise and the actual colour.

Today while searching for colour combinations, I stumbled across this little gem for crafters! I can't believe I haven't found it before this! It creates combinations of colours for you with the click of a button and its FREE!  Yes! Something for nothing!

This has inspired me incredibly and I'm sure it will inspire you!

Like a Chook With No Head!

close-up photography of white rooster
That's what my Mum would say... "Kim, I've been running around like a chook with no head!" It wasn't until I saw a rooster being slaughtered that I understood what that saying really meant. (There was no computers, internet or Youtube to investigate that saying)

We all have such busy lives but I have a solution for you!

Hi, I'm Kim Heath, your Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. Thank you for reading my blog. I'll be quick because we all have so many things we need to get do!

Simple stamping has become so popular! We are juggling so many things these days: kids, family, work, friends! For me, life just seems to be so much more fast paced. Like you, I need a way to cram everything in!

I have some amazing news!
Its OK to slow down for half an hour (or even an hour)! I give you permission to take thirty plus minutes and have some "you" time! Your mental health will thank you!

Stampin' Up! has you covered! You don't have to spend hours searching the internet or thinking about ideas or worrying about what pattern goes with which stamp! They want you to enjoy your crafting time so they have done all the thinking for you! You can just sit back, relax and enjoy the simplicity of creating your own hand made greeting card.

Stampin' Up!'s stamps, inks, paper and embellishments go together so easily and are so versatile. A strip of patterned Designer Series Paper (DSP), a stamp or two, some adhesive and an ink pad and you have an adorable card that your family and friends would be honoured to receive.

Here is a card that I completed last night in under thirty minutes.

#simplestamping

If you wanted to, you could stamp an image inside the card too. I like to include a small image on the inside bottom right hand corner so when your recipient opens the card, the joy continues!

I've left this Γ§ard very simple but if you wanted to, you could add some sequins or some rhinestones or pearls to step it up a little.

Instructions for the card above.

1.  Decide on the colour of your card base: Calypso Coral and cut it long ways 10.5cm (your base should be 14.9 x 10.5cm) using a trimmer.
2.  Turn it around and score it at 14.9cm.
3.  Fold in half at the score mark.  Flatten the crease with a bone folder.
4.  Choose your patterned paper: Woven Threads Designer Series Paper
5.  Cut the DSP at 5.5 x 10 cm and tear one side. (if you dont want to tear, just cut at 4.5cm instead)
6.  Choose your ink colour: Blackberry Bliss, that is a little darker than your base card and stamp your image and sentiment.
7.  Open the your card and stamp all or part of the image in the bottom right hand corner.
Congratulations you have completed your Simple Stamping Card.

I created another Simple Card using the back of the same paper that I used in the card above.
I love how Stampin' Up! has double sided paper!

To step them up and get a little more fancy, just add some rhinestones, pearls or sequins. I would use some sequins on this Lighthouse card as it's more masculine.

Life is like a box of....

Hi Friends, I hope you are well and avoiding the flu! I've been indoors trying to stay warm, as I've really felt the cold this year. Usually here in Queensland, our winter days are 24 degrees Celsius with very little rain.  It's not the case this winter. While keeping myself warm, I've been playing with Stampin' Up!'s Daisy Lane stamp set and co-ordinating large daisy punch.
 DAISY LANE BUNDLE
Daisies always make me smile. Simple yet so beautiful! They are stunning in a bunch or as a single flower. I love their variety of colours but my favourite is white with the yellow middle.

Stampin' Up! have again designed an adorable stamp set, this time with two daisy images, both with co-ordinating punches. This allows you to create a daisy with more dimension by layering multiple punched flowers.  This set is so versatile which always makes me happy. What makes me ecstatic is that it perfectly compliments the Daisy Delight stamp set and the large Daisy Punch so you can use them all together!

For July only, I have an exclusive offer so keep reading to the end...

When I woke early this morning, I immediately thought of the Daisy Lane stamp set, I just had to make a card!!!  Pinterest is so helpful and inspiring but sometimes I can get very distracted (so many ideas, so little time).  I was determined I would find a new card style. And I did just that!

The Recessed Card technique was the winner!!!  It takes a little time but when you've done this technique once it become way easier.

I love experimenting with the Stampin' Up! colours. Even though I love pinks and purples, I am drawn to Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody. They're such happy and bright colours.
Take a look at my finished creations:

I really enjoyed creating these cards! Stay tuned for a future blog post with step by step instructions for this technique.

Do You Like Fun Cards?

Hi Friends, welcome to my blog! I love to make fun cards to shake up my creative juices! I recently discovered a technique called Floating Frames. Its a two for one technique.  You get to make two cards from one card front. The hardest thing about this technique is choosing the stamp set to use. '

πŸ‘€  TIP - use a stamp that has either a matching die or punch - unless you like fussy cutting, I know some people who do. I used the Butterfly Gala stamp set (its one of my favourites!). It really is such a versatile stamp set. I also used the Butterfly Duet Punch which made it so much faster than fussy cutting the images out myself.

Here is my first creation πŸ‘‡

I used the Colourful Seasons stamp set for the sentiment in the frame on the front.
Additionally, I used the Stampin'' Blends to colour the butterflies and the Stampin' Up! Mini Stampin' Dimensional (adhesive backed foam squares).  They come in two sizes, regular and mini. The mini is best for this technique.  I have to say that I really enjoyed colouring the butterflies, it was so relaxing!

This is the second card made with the floating frame technique.

I used the Stitched Rectangle dies to cut the middle out but also used them to create the frame around the focal image.
I recommend using the thick Whisper White cardstock. As I was out of the thick, I used the normal Whisper White card and added two more cardstock rectangles on the inside of the card, it added colour and strength.

I had a blast creating these cards and Im sure you will too! I'm looking forward to making more cards using this technique.
